“Can I see your General Price List?”
Federal law (FTC Funeral Rule) requires them to give you itemized pricing. You have every right to ask.
“Do you accept insurance assignment?”
Ask whether assignment is available for your policy and location, what fees apply, and what you must pay upfront. MedaSynq does not arrange assignments.
“What's included vs. what's extra?”
Packages may not include everything. Ask about the casket, embalming, transportation, facility fees, and death certificate copies.
“Do you offer payment plans?”
Many funeral homes allow you to spread the cost over time. Ask about down payments, terms, and financing options.
Know Your Rights
Under the FTC Funeral Rule, funeral homes must give price information by telephone and a written General Price List when you visit in person. Federal law does not require them to send the list by mail or email. You can select individual goods and services and use a casket purchased elsewhere.

“My mother passed unexpectedly. She was an organ donor and sent here. They did the embalming. I understand they didn't have much to work with since she was a donor. I wish I could have gotten a phone call and spoke to someone before they finished. I just wanted my mom's final wish for a traditional funeral to be as perfect as possible for her, and I feel that the lack of rapport with us, cheated her out of that. I don't want to get in to specific details, but a phone call would have been nice.”

“This company is one of the best mortuary services out there. They are prompt, professional, and the hardest working individuals I know. They do not work with the public directly Ms Singh, that is why that man had a sheet over him. He was most likely on his way to be embalmed. Another thing, this isn't how they are transported, they use velvet shrouds and gurneys when in transport. After that they keep them in a massive cooler or put them in the hall right before the embalming process. I'm so sorry that your knowledge of the goings after death are limited but that doesn't give you the right to insult a very honorable company and proffession because your lack of intelligence.”
