Know Your Rights
Under the FTC Funeral Rule, funeral homes must give price information by telephone and a written General Price List when you visit in person. Federal law does not require them to send the list by mail or email. You can select individual goods and services and use a casket purchased elsewhere.

“I have done research since my Mom passed away in January of this year. I knew the director we worked with at this place was what I can only describe as cold, but our family missed out on very important things that I now know are an option. Money was first and foremost with whoever we worked with. I don't recall his name because he never introduced himself or even said he was sorry for our loss. That's your job as a funeral director! Even if you don't mean it, at least act like you cared. We were also not made aware that it was an option to have a viewing of my Mom, dressed and in makeup, prior to her being cremated. Another very lost memory and closure for us that we will NEVER get back. Think long and hard before you leave your loved one in their hands. They were very unprofessional and showed zero empathy. Please know you have other options for your loved ones. I don't even dare to think how my Mom was treated while in this place. 😐”
