“Can I see your General Price List?”
Federal law (FTC Funeral Rule) requires them to give you itemized pricing. You have every right to ask.
“Do you accept insurance assignment?”
Ask whether assignment is available for your policy and location, what fees apply, and what you must pay upfront. MedaSynq does not arrange assignments.
“What's included vs. what's extra?”
Packages may not include everything. Ask about the casket, embalming, transportation, facility fees, and death certificate copies.
Know Your Rights
Under the FTC Funeral Rule, funeral homes must give price information by telephone and a written General Price List when you visit in person. Federal law does not require them to send the list by mail or email. You can select individual goods and services and use a casket purchased elsewhere.

“The funeral home is decent as long as you don't have any children to bring with you. Days before the funeral, the director kept suggesting to my mom to find babysitters for all of our families' children if we could. Our whole family was at the funeral so that wasn't possible. The whole time the kids were confined to one room if they got a little rowdy he was upset. I was stared at disapprovingly for changing my daughter's diaper on a couch because there aren't any places to change babies. The other two funeral directors were nice but the main one was rude even to adults and made a comment about my husband's accent and he could tell he wasn't from here. Yes they did a decent service for my aunt but we didn't like how the main guy was rude about us having our kids there. So I would recommend it only if you have no children that will be attending.”
