Federal law (FTC Funeral Rule) requires them to give you itemized pricing. You have every right to ask.
“Do you accept insurance assignment?”

“What's included vs. what's extra?”

Know Your Rights
Under the FTC Funeral Rule, funeral homes must give price information by telephone and a written General Price List when you visit in person. Federal law does not require them to send the list by mail or email. You can select individual goods and services and use a casket purchased elsewhere.

“My son who died as an infant is buried at Doris Miller but if I had the money to move his remains I would. The headstone has been run over repeatedly by a mower and oil has literally destroyed the writing on the stone. What is worse is that the manager promised to replace the stone years ago when I brought it to her attention but nothing was ever done. In fact it is worse. Now the grave is overgrown and there is trash everywhere. The owners could care less about the upkeep of this cemetery or our loved ones buried there. They should be truly ashamed but somehow I doubt that they care at all. They deserve zero stars.”
