Federal law (FTC Funeral Rule) requires them to give you itemized pricing. You have every right to ask.
“Do you accept insurance assignment?”

“What's included vs. what's extra?”
Packages may not include everything. Ask about the casket, embalming, transportation, facility fees, and death certificate copies.
Know Your Rights
Under the FTC Funeral Rule, funeral homes must give price information by telephone and a written General Price List when you visit in person. Federal law does not require them to send the list by mail or email. You can select individual goods and services and use a casket purchased elsewhere.

“This cemetery is horrible, my mom died in Sept and the date plate is still not on headstone. The grounds are overgrown and her plot has sunk at least 4 inches. My sister has called at least 4 times, and even after speaking with a manager nothing has been done to fix the issues. My brother-in-law wanted to take his wheel barrel filled with topsoil to fix the appearance. I would never recommend this place as they clearly take your money and toss your loved one in the hole for thousands of dollars. It is very disrespectful in my opinion. Sunset hills you should be ashamed of yourselves.”

“My parents bought plots here years ago. Dad died in 2002 and the funeral home handled everything. When mom died in 2009, the cemetery was under new management. I had to go to the offices on Everhard to "verify the grave location." The marker was already in place and it just needed mom's date of death, so there was nothing to verify. It was just a ruse to get some family member into the office to make a sales pitch to sell a plot. I will never do business with these vultures.”

“Was so upset and disturbed when my sister, my friend and I went to put a wreath on my Mother's grave before Christmas and seen the tire ruts on my Mom's, and several other grave sites. We watched in horror as two grounds employees drove a pickup truck and a big backhoe back and forth over other sites and man's stones and wreaths! We stayed until they left the area, because we just could not leave those other sites of loved ones looking like that. We tried to fix all the wreaths the best we could. We took photos and went to the office when it opened and to no avail a man listened and said that he couldn't do anything but we should talk to someone else, who is of course on vacation and won't be back for a week. This is happening at the Memory Garden off of Frank Rd and if we had seen this before our Mother passed in September she would not be buried there. Please report any disrespectful things you see at Sunset Hills. Our loved ones are there forever for our family members to share our love with.”
