“Can I see your General Price List?”
Federal law (FTC Funeral Rule) requires them to give you itemized pricing. You have every right to ask.
“Do you accept insurance assignment?”
Ask whether assignment is available for your policy and location, what fees apply, and what you must pay upfront. MedaSynq does not arrange assignments.
“What's included vs. what's extra?”
Packages may not include everything. Ask about the casket, embalming, transportation, facility fees, and death certificate copies.
“Do you offer payment plans?”
Many funeral homes allow you to spread the cost over time. Ask about down payments, terms, and financing options.
Know Your Rights
Under the FTC Funeral Rule, funeral homes must give price information by telephone and a written General Price List when you visit in person. Federal law does not require them to send the list by mail or email. You can select individual goods and services and use a casket purchased elsewhere.

“I am sincerely disappointed with this horrible experience. No one would want to remember their loved ones this way. They fought with my sister about doing my moms makeup for the viewing. Then they said they would do it for free. It was awful. You could tell there were spots with no makeup at all leaving discoloration throughout my lovely mothers face. The lady who met with our family at this funeral home was dressed in street clothes and hurried us. She continuously asked us if we were ready while we were still gathering. (No more than 5 minutes). When my dad said the prayer for our family a man that walked through was talking rather loudly on his phone. The lady did nothing about this and just let the man continue talking loudly on his phone. My mother was a very beautiful and loving person. Instead of being treated as such, she was treated as an object, like all they cared about was seeing how fast they could do their job. I would never recommend this funeral home to anyone. No one should have this experience as the last time to see their loved ones.”
