“Can I see your General Price List?”
Federal law (FTC Funeral Rule) requires them to give you itemized pricing. You have every right to ask.
“Do you accept insurance assignment?”

“What's included vs. what's extra?”
Packages may not include everything. Ask about the casket, embalming, transportation, facility fees, and death certificate copies.
“Do you offer payment plans?”

Know Your Rights
Under the FTC Funeral Rule, funeral homes must give price information by telephone and a written General Price List when you visit in person. Federal law does not require them to send the list by mail or email. You can select individual goods and services and use a casket purchased elsewhere.

Because of this, we had no choice but to move our family member to another funeral home. “The ordeal is too long to write out. They insists that we owe them money but when we showed them the documents, it showed that we paid over $18,000 and now they don't want to give the money back. Also citing that we cancelled on short notice. But we were trying to work with them to continue to have service there. They left us no choice but to move on. No family should have to deal with greediness and scams while still grieving. Avoid this funeral home. We were not the only family that they have done this to.”
