“Can I see your General Price List?”
Federal law (FTC Funeral Rule) requires them to give you itemized pricing. You have every right to ask.
“Do you accept insurance assignment?”

“What's included vs. what's extra?”
Packages may not include everything. Ask about the casket, embalming, transportation, facility fees, and death certificate copies.
Know Your Rights
Under the FTC Funeral Rule, funeral homes must give price information by telephone and a written General Price List when you visit in person. Federal law does not require them to send the list by mail or email. You can select individual goods and services and use a casket purchased elsewhere.

You do have to make an appointment, but since they are busy, this is understandable, and they are always able to squeeze you in as soon as possible. He was able to make mine that very day, a few hours away. The cheapest cremation by far, and a celebration of life for the same price as cremation only most places I was calling. Any time he sent information, emails, phone calls, he was always polite and friendly,making sure to communicate so things we're done in a timely manner. He understood that someone lost an important part of themselves. David helped me make all the preparations for my father, and didn't rush me to make any decisions. He understood my grief, and even at 28 I never expected to have to bury my father until a few years at least, but I had David Snyder, a wonderful husband Andrew, and my grandparents to help me understand this depressing, although necessary, last part of life.
