Know Your Rights
Under the FTC Funeral Rule, funeral homes must give price information by telephone and a written General Price List when you visit in person. Federal law does not require them to send the list by mail or email. You can select individual goods and services and use a casket purchased elsewhere.

“I urge you to please do your due diligence when turning to Cleveland Jewish Funerals to bury your loved one. It’s a “sales” game that leaves you traumatized during an already incredibly difficult and devastating time. Ben should be ashamed of himself for what he puts fellow Jewish families through. “I wish that it were possible to give Ben and Cleveland Jewish funerals zero stars but in order to leave an honest, detailed review it’s necessary to choose one star. There is zero bedside manner or genuine compassion from this company. It’s definitely just a “business”. To say that my aunt and uncle have PTSD after working with Ben is an understatement. Everything was just a fiasco, beyond uncomfortable, unprofessional and the list goes on. Starting with 7:00 am calls to my aunt and uncle repeatedly on the day of their sons burial requesting more money for a new casket due to his body not fitting in the other one they sold us to lying about ordering death certificates (we paid for four of them and still have none nearly 2 years later) to leading us on about publishing an obituary and giving us print outs for our friends and family (we had to hound Ben and plead for these photo obituaries which were dropped off to my aunt 2 days after the funeral already passed) to just the ENTIRE experience being downright exhausting and emotionally disturbing … I would 10/10 never recommend Ben or Cleveland Jewish funerals to ANYONE. We have planned and attended (unfortunately) 14 funerals to date through Berkowitz-Kumin-Bookatz and wish that we had spent more money and used them. Spoke with the vital statistics department today after speaking with Ben about my cousins death certificate for my aunt and uncle, only to find out he once again lied and never filed anything until today. Overall just a heart wrenching and emotionally exhausting experience. We will never turn to Cleveland Jewish funerals again. Steer clear of Ben and take your money elsewhere and give your family member the burial and funeral they deserve.”
