You're not expected to know this. These questions help you compare and avoid surprises.
“Can I see your General Price List?”
Federal law (FTC Funeral Rule) requires them to give you itemized pricing. You have every right to ask.
“Do you accept insurance assignment?”
Ask whether assignment is available for your policy and location, what fees apply, and what you must pay upfront. MedaSynq does not arrange assignments.
“What's included vs. what's extra?”
Packages may not include everything. Ask about the casket, embalming, transportation, facility fees, and death certificate copies.
Know Your Rights
Under the FTC Funeral Rule, funeral homes must give price information by telephone and a written General Price List when you visit in person. Federal law does not require them to send the list by mail or email. You can select individual goods and services and use a casket purchased elsewhere.

“I found this place online and was very grateful for the excellent service my daughter and I had, having my husband cremated. They were respectful, and very knowledgeable. The price was very reasonable. They even told me that there was a program to assist with cost, but we chose not to use it. I'm pretty sure when my time comes, my daughter will be dealing with them again.”

“We are extremely disappointed. My father-in-law passed away on 1/6, and it has now been 11 days with no resolution. I have called multiple times and keep being told that it is “someone else’s problem,” and now I’m being told it will be another few days before we can get any resolution. We have already paid for the services, and it truly feels like they no longer care because they already have our money. Instead of the funeral home handling these arrangements as they should, I have been left to call different people and try to organize everything myself during an already very difficult time. This lack of communication, accountability, and compassion has added unnecessary stress to our family when we needed support the most.”
