“Can I see your General Price List?”
Federal law (FTC Funeral Rule) requires them to give you itemized pricing. You have every right to ask.
“Do you accept insurance assignment?”
Ask whether assignment is available for your policy and location, what fees apply, and what you must pay upfront. MedaSynq does not arrange assignments.
“What's included vs. what's extra?”
Packages may not include everything. Ask about the casket, embalming, transportation, facility fees, and death certificate copies.
Know Your Rights
Under the FTC Funeral Rule, funeral homes must give price information by telephone and a written General Price List when you visit in person. Federal law does not require them to send the list by mail or email. You can select individual goods and services and use a casket purchased elsewhere.

“Unsympathetic staff. The makeup person made my loved one look like a zombie. The skin tone was greenish brown. It was awful. Mr. Mooney seemed like It was a bothersome to have to interact with me. The day after the visitation at the burial he never looked at me, said hello or even offered a hand shake. I have written the funeral home and never received a response. DURING THE ACTUAL funeral they called me into an office to get a check from me. No problem, I gave them one. Later I found out my sister had generously paid my half of the bill for me. My son's mother as to pay for half of this funeral. That was not communicated to me, and a year later they sent me to collections even though I had paid 3/4 of the bill. It's sick and Mr. Mooney was at the burial the next next day and said to my father : I hope Tim will be okay and doesn't kill himself." How messed up is that!? He had absolutely no reason to think this and went out of his way to make sure he biked me out of more money and avoided me during the burial. Shame on him.them.”
