Know Your Rights
Under the FTC Funeral Rule, funeral homes must give price information by telephone and a written General Price List when you visit in person. Federal law does not require them to send the list by mail or email. You can select individual goods and services and use a casket purchased elsewhere.

“We had a totally different experience today than we had 3 years ago when they took care of my grandfather. When taking care of my grandfather they were kind and really made us feel cared for and supported in our time of need. This time it wasn't much more than a business transaction. Nothing was more important than immediate payment, even before our loved one was in the ground. As soon as we walked into the funeral home to view our family member for the first time it was mentioned and then several times while we were with family and saying goodbye (we had 30 minutes). They actually wanted their almost $12,000 payment as soon as the arrangements were discussed on Saturday. We did pay in full the day of service. Their service was not worth at all what we paid. There are additional charges for every thing. $495 just to take the body about 1/2 mile to the church. $290 for "errand vehicle" which I'm not sure what is for... he mentioned picking up death certificates but I'll be doing that myself. I would recommend you use another local funeral home for your loved ones. Please look into other facilities before choosing this one blindly. Our hard day was much worse because we chose Groce. We made this decision because my grandfather, a Pastor at a local church had worked with them so often and knew the staff well and because they took such good care of him and us when he passed 3 years ago. Sadly things are no longer the same.”
