“Can I see your General Price List?”
Federal law (FTC Funeral Rule) requires them to give you itemized pricing. You have every right to ask.
“Do you accept insurance assignment?”
Ask whether assignment is available for your policy and location, what fees apply, and what you must pay upfront. MedaSynq does not arrange assignments.
“What's included vs. what's extra?”
Packages may not include everything. Ask about the casket, embalming, transportation, facility fees, and death certificate copies.
Know Your Rights
Under the FTC Funeral Rule, funeral homes must give price information by telephone and a written General Price List when you visit in person. Federal law does not require them to send the list by mail or email. You can select individual goods and services and use a casket purchased elsewhere.

Coastal came, even at a late night hour, to pick my mother up and gave us the caring kindness we needed at that moment. The following day we went to Coastal's Zephyrhills office and met with Jim, Paige and Yvette. Again we were treated with compassion and great kindness. They clearly explained the procedure and time frame to expect for cremation and we picked out the services needed. They have many different plans to chose from. They also made the call to Social Security for us, which was one less thing for us to do, as well as provided our desired number of death certificates needed. I ordered my own Urn and brought it them for my mother's ashes, which they inserted for us. They also offer Urn selections, jewelry selections, prayer cards with several different versions to select, wrote moms Obituary with our help and posted it on their website (if desired). We are having a Mass for my mother in another town, but they do have a small chapel for on site services if needed. My husband and I, highly recommend Coastal Cremations and Funeral Home for cremation or traditional funeral services. They exceeded our expectations and made a truly difficult time a lot easier.”
