“Can I see your General Price List?”
Federal law (FTC Funeral Rule) requires them to give you itemized pricing. You have every right to ask.
“Do you accept insurance assignment?”
Ask whether assignment is available for your policy and location, what fees apply, and what you must pay upfront. MedaSynq does not arrange assignments.
“What's included vs. what's extra?”
Packages may not include everything. Ask about the casket, embalming, transportation, facility fees, and death certificate copies.
“Do you offer payment plans?”
Many funeral homes allow you to spread the cost over time. Ask about down payments, terms, and financing options.
Know Your Rights
Under the FTC Funeral Rule, funeral homes must give price information by telephone and a written General Price List when you visit in person. Federal law does not require them to send the list by mail or email. You can select individual goods and services and use a casket purchased elsewhere.

“We decided on an opem casket for mother. Whitley.wanted 5000 dollars up in front before they did anything. The day of the viewing there wasn"t a viewing. Because Whitley wanted more money. By the time Whitley was paid off mother's body was nof in gold enough shape for a viewing. So we ended up with a closed casket. My advice..stay away from this place. There r other choices in the Kalamazoo area who r more in tune to family needs.”

“OMG! We are h here today burying My fiance mother and we were doing a graveside service and as we were walking to the grave I notice the men who dug the grave and they were standing there beside the tent like they were part of the family I notice one guy playing a game of so called basket ball by thrown dressed flowers at another lady grave threat had the cave with beautiful flowers but the old one he was throwing we're dead and ugly and he was intermingling them by throwing them like darts that's when I was thinking these people got no manners and then they stood there and didn't want to give us time to ourselves as a family so they ask if they could proceed. So they started lowering the casket and the idiot that was throwing flowers at the other lady's grave some how dropped his mom's casket. That was the worst of things that could happen. Of course I went ham on him then the short chubby lady that was running the whole thing said it wasn't his fault. No comforting to the family only worried about who's fault or was and was on me about getting on him. M my advice is due h him on the spot he obviously had no respect for the graves and how his behavior wasn't appreciate and those dudes should never have been that close while the family said their last good bye. My advice to anyone thinking that they want to bury themselves or a loved one to highly reconsider. My advise to the short chunky lady that was running the show.... You should first and fire most make sure you are using god equipment to begging before you try to bury someone's. And get you ground keepers to hang out and act so insidiously at the shed and let the family have a moment to themselves. I would never suggest anyone go thru the experience we did.”
