You're not expected to know this. These questions help you compare and avoid surprises.
“Can I see your General Price List?”
Federal law (FTC Funeral Rule) requires them to give you itemized pricing. You have every right to ask.
“Do you accept insurance assignment?”
Ask whether assignment is available for your policy and location, what fees apply, and what you must pay upfront. MedaSynq does not arrange assignments.
“What's included vs. what's extra?”
Packages may not include everything. Ask about the casket, embalming, transportation, facility fees, and death certificate copies.
Know Your Rights
Under the FTC Funeral Rule, funeral homes must give price information by telephone and a written General Price List when you visit in person. Federal law does not require them to send the list by mail or email. You can select individual goods and services and use a casket purchased elsewhere.

“I gotta say that with as much money as a cemetery makes these days, the bathrooms here are horrible. Especially the women's bathroom. My wife had to use it today after a long drive to visit friends and family that are buried there. The use of the water hose after picking up all the dirty papers and trash would do wonders to the bathrooms. It is not like they only have one or two employees working the grounds and the office at the same time. Today, we saw about 10 workers outside and 4 in the office. I know that the tenants won't complain about the bathrooms (or anything else for that matter), but the visitors will.”

“Extremely disappointed. I have left 4 messages and visited in person with a complaint and still waiting for a call back. This is the irrigation problem that has not been resolved for over 3 months. ONE YEAR later and the irrigation problem has not been fixed. Now they are blaming it on the city! They will take your name/number but you will not get a call back!”

“My family has been through a lot of pain and confusion due to Leo and the office team... I've hesitated to post this but I realized that withholding this information would be a disservice to future clients. I would like to urge everyone to bury their loved ones somewhere else for the following reasons: Leo gave me and my family an ultimatum day of burial service to either postpone the event OR give in to their demands (he attempted to make me and my family feel bad about him potentially being "fired" for this mishap). He realized, again day of, that my dad's ashes were distributed among two urns - one of which would be with my mother at all times. I've submitted documents in a timely manner so I was surprised he didn't bring this up during consultation or anytime during email communications when I was attaching the appropriate paperwork. I also looked over ALL the signed contracts and it didn't state that we were REQUIRED to have ashes all in one place. Yes, we understand Catholic protocol surrounding this situation... it was just unfortunate that Leo failed to communicate this until the day of my dad's burial AND also failed to back up his claims with any paperwork. Furthermore, Leo put in our request for the headstone back in July of 2024 and we now just found out that the color we picked was, in fact, not available. So he was just sitting on this information for months without reaching out to my family. We would've never been updated about this unless we called / emailed to check in on the status of the headstone a few weeks ago. We hoped that by confirming all this last year, we would've been able to do something for the extended family either for his death anniversary (which is this month) or his birthday (which is in May). However, that will not be a possibility due to his lack of communication. But yes, he did apologize... but I'm very concerned about how their administrative team is handling clients and if it's even worth the price they charged us... A huge headache to say the least and I plan to reach out to the appropriate governing bodies so that my family can put in a formal complaint. Grieving families definitely deserve better than this and I hope you consider other locations for burial to avoid this kind of experience. I'm sorry Leo but you and your team need to hire more employees because I'm not sure if your team at Queen of Heaven can handle the current workload. Lastly, I know you’ve given me your superior’s contact information and I’m still waiting to hear back from him. It’s been almost a year now =\”
