“I’ve never had any problems with the cemetery. If there was something I needed taken care of the office staff has always been accommodating and pleasant, I would even say friendly. My family also bought plots when the cemetery first opened. I will be the last one to be buried there and I hope they continue to take good care of us.”

“My grandparents purchased a number of plots at King Solomon with perpetual care shortly after the cemetery opened in the early 1940s -- we even have all the original paperwork! Both passed away 50 and 60 years ago, respectively. My family visited frequently, but my parents, too, are now gone (and buried elsewhere). After more than 30 years, I wanted to pay my respects to my grandparents and recall some of the wonderful memories of my youth. So on Nov. 14, my wife and son and I drove out to Clifton, and I was stunned at the poor condition of so many of the graves. I was appalled. Out of respect, I won't post photos, but here's a brief description of what we observed : Horribly sunken base stones that would make the Leaning Tower of Pisa look perfectly level; monuments shifted so dramatically that they are practically on top of one other or on the actual walking paths; bronze plaques that have partially or completely detached from their base -- in at least one instance, the bronze marker was gone; bronze plaques in which the raised lettering had come off, rendering the identity of the deceased a complete mystery; and shrub overgrowth so extensive that you can barely see the markers. Overall, the shifting, sinking monuments were the most extensive problem. As far as my family's plot, we were more fortunate than most, but I did notice that the shrubbery that used to sit behind the marker is gone and has never been replaced. The overall neglect makes the property look desecrated or abandoned, and is disrespectful to the deceased and their families. I was so disappointed to see the serious deterioration and neglect of this once beautiful property that brought peace to so many. Those who now enjoy eternal rest and those of us left behind with our memories deserve better.”

“Marty Gantz and anyone else who can help me. I am having a very hard time with the cemetery. My Mom and Brother's stones were moved while they repaired the sidewalk in the Mount Hermon area. The stones should never have been moved. The plates on both stones are now broken. No one in that area's stones were put back in the right spots. Anyone who has family in that area, please leave a review. Thanking you in advance.”
