“Can I see your General Price List?”
Federal law (FTC Funeral Rule) requires them to give you itemized pricing. You have every right to ask.
“Do you accept insurance assignment?”
Ask whether assignment is available for your policy and location, what fees apply, and what you must pay upfront. MedaSynq does not arrange assignments.
“What's included vs. what's extra?”
Packages may not include everything. Ask about the casket, embalming, transportation, facility fees, and death certificate copies.
“Do you offer payment plans?”
Many funeral homes allow you to spread the cost over time. Ask about down payments, terms, and financing options.
Know Your Rights
Under the FTC Funeral Rule, funeral homes must give price information by telephone and a written General Price List when you visit in person. Federal law does not require them to send the list by mail or email. You can select individual goods and services and use a casket purchased elsewhere.

“I've been a avid supporter of Parting Stones for a long time, but never had the opportunity to personally use them until my mom passed. She was and active 96, even skiing at 91, until her body surrendered. We had and incredible wake with over a 100 people attending to share stories. Her casket was engraved with her name and an image of a mountain and a skier. The following day the mass was held at the same church where I was confirmed and got married. So, with a full visitation and a traditional service someone may be thinking, why did we choose Parting Stones? Well, my mom wanted to be cremated so some of her ashes could go back to Poland to be buried next to her mom. Cremating gave us time to pic the perfect gravesite near her home on Cape Cod. We had over 30 people at the grave side service many of whom could not make it to the wake. It was another celebration of her life with a champagne toast to send her off in style! Today, her Parting Stones are with every family member serving as a healing moment every time we hold it. I take her every where I go. I even take her on my sales calls. We plan to leave some at her favorite ski trails, the pond she swam across in the summers and close to a bench at her work where she dedicated over 45 years to scientific research. My message to everyone is that Parting stones do not have to be an alternative to a traditional wake and funeral, you can do it all!
