Know Your Rights
Under the FTC Funeral Rule, funeral homes must give price information by telephone and a written General Price List when you visit in person. Federal law does not require them to send the list by mail or email. You can select individual goods and services and use a casket purchased elsewhere.

I made the mistake of meeting with Karen to finalize the arrangements. Karen was so horrific that I ended up leaving the meeting. She clearly doesn't know who her customers are (grieving family members) and she was unhelpful and just a horrible person. I spoke with others who have had similar experiences with Karen. If I didn't already have a family memorial at this cemetery I would go elsewhere because of Karen, but I will work around her and make my arrangements. TO THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES: REALLY? And the cemetery is kind of a dump. Clean it up. Plant some more trees. COME ON!!!”

“My recently deceased father was a Des Moines mason for over 50 years. I recently visited his cremation site and the man who was string trimming had put his gas can and other tools on top of his stone. He came over and apologized. When I was ready to leave , he had placed his stuff on someone else's stone. I went and very nicely told him I thought that was very disrespectful of the dead. He said he did that so the gas wouldn't kill the grass. I would MUCH rather see dead grass! I might add my dad's stone is only 6-8 feet from the street. Please stop being disrespectful!!”
