“Can I see your General Price List?”
Federal law (FTC Funeral Rule) requires them to give you itemized pricing. You have every right to ask.
“Do you accept insurance assignment?”
Ask whether assignment is available for your policy and location, what fees apply, and what you must pay upfront. MedaSynq does not arrange assignments.
“What's included vs. what's extra?”
Packages may not include everything. Ask about the casket, embalming, transportation, facility fees, and death certificate copies.
Know Your Rights
Under the FTC Funeral Rule, funeral homes must give price information by telephone and a written General Price List when you visit in person. Federal law does not require them to send the list by mail or email. You can select individual goods and services and use a casket purchased elsewhere.

“My mother had everything pre-planned and paid for. I called them the day before she died to let them know where she was at and that she was on hospice and not expected to live much longer and double checked to make sure they had all the info for her obit. She died on sat and I called them on Monday to arrange a time to talk about the details that day and agreed upon a time. They called me to ask to move the time back because they were busy. Not what someone wants to hear when their loved one just died but I agreed. They did have all the info and would work on the obit. I had to call 2 days later to see where things were at with her cremation and obit. After several back and forth the obit was finished. She still wasn't cremated, they were waiting for the death cert. Almost a week later, I had to call again to ask about her cremation and they were still waiting for her death cert. Once again, I had to say what are you doing about it, she was on hospice, it shouldn't take that long. They forgot she was on hospice and had been going through the wrong doctors. It took 10 days for my mom to be cremated. How disrespectful of them and to our family. I shouldn't have had to keep calling them, asking them about things and staying on them but I had to. Scott was on vacation, but that isn't an excuse. My mom deserved better than that. So shameful of them to not take care of her timely and lack of compassion to the family.”

“Scott and staff were very empathetic and responsive. Details were handled to perfection. A difficult time for family, however having such professionalism greatly reduced our stress at this time of grieving.”

“I have had 5 family members travel to their resting place through you. You have always been kind, respectful and willing to help if we needed it. We did on a couple fronts. Thank you for being there.”
