“Can I see your General Price List?”
Federal law (FTC Funeral Rule) requires them to give you itemized pricing. You have every right to ask.
“Do you accept insurance assignment?”
Ask whether assignment is available for your policy and location, what fees apply, and what you must pay upfront. MedaSynq does not arrange assignments.
“What's included vs. what's extra?”
Packages may not include everything. Ask about the casket, embalming, transportation, facility fees, and death certificate copies.
Know Your Rights
Under the FTC Funeral Rule, funeral homes must give price information by telephone and a written General Price List when you visit in person. Federal law does not require them to send the list by mail or email. You can select individual goods and services and use a casket purchased elsewhere.

I did have a couple of issues unrelated to the service that were mostly due to miscommunication, but let me assure you, they were handled. I won't go into the details as every similar situation in the future may not be handled the same, and I don't want to set that expectation. But, I was more than satisfied with how Bobby resolved the situation. It showed me that they truly care for the families they serve. Kimberly is also a wonderful person to talk to, very empathetic, and she'll help with any probate questions. I also appreciated Danny's speech during the service. Last, but not least, I loved William so much! He is the original owner (or one of the two?) of Shives, and he was so sweet during my mom's viewing, service, and burial. A very sunny disposition, and you can tell he really enjoys helping families. I would absolutely use Shives in the future.”
