“Can I see your General Price List?”
Federal law (FTC Funeral Rule) requires them to give you itemized pricing. You have every right to ask.
“Do you accept insurance assignment?”
Ask whether assignment is available for your policy and location, what fees apply, and what you must pay upfront. MedaSynq does not arrange assignments.
“What's included vs. what's extra?”
Packages may not include everything. Ask about the casket, embalming, transportation, facility fees, and death certificate copies.
Know Your Rights
Under the FTC Funeral Rule, funeral homes must give price information by telephone and a written General Price List when you visit in person. Federal law does not require them to send the list by mail or email. You can select individual goods and services and use a casket purchased elsewhere.

“my granddaughter was still born about 12 years ago. Proctor handled the funeral. When we viewed her little body in the casket, they had simply laid her clothes on top of her, and you could see her little body, but one thing that I will never be able to get out of my mind Was before everyone left the funeral and I was still sitting there and her mother and her father were sitting there and hopefully they didn’t see this but apparently they were in a hurry. They picked up her little casket and put it in a clear garbage bag that’s right garbage bag, and walked off with it , we didn’t go to the graveside, but I will never until I die. Get that out of my mind.”
