“Can I see your General Price List?”
Federal law (FTC Funeral Rule) requires them to give you itemized pricing. You have every right to ask.
“Do you accept insurance assignment?”
Ask whether assignment is available for your policy and location, what fees apply, and what you must pay upfront. MedaSynq does not arrange assignments.
“What's included vs. what's extra?”
Packages may not include everything. Ask about the casket, embalming, transportation, facility fees, and death certificate copies.
“Do you offer payment plans?”
Many funeral homes allow you to spread the cost over time. Ask about down payments, terms, and financing options.
Know Your Rights
Under the FTC Funeral Rule, funeral homes must give price information by telephone and a written General Price List when you visit in person. Federal law does not require them to send the list by mail or email. You can select individual goods and services and use a casket purchased elsewhere.

“I can't believe they sent my mother's cremated remains the way they did and with no regards to her other daughters that they don't personally know. I was sent a unsealed large envelope (that looked like it had been to hell and back) with too small zip lock bags in it that contained a small amount each of my mother. No name no card no nothing. I was under the impression that it was illegal to even send them through the mail but upon researching found this "The first thing to know is that you can only use the USPS to ship cremated remains. Courier services like FedEx and UPS do not allow this.The USPS allows for shipping cremated remains by Priority Mail Express service only." Along with other legal requirements I definitely didn't have to sighn for it. It was definitely not in a strong durable container and it definitely wasn't sent Priority mail. On top of them not getting back to me or sending a copy of her fingerprints as requested. If you don't know these people personally take my advice and find a better place to trust your loved ones with.”
