“Can I see your General Price List?”
Federal law (FTC Funeral Rule) requires them to give you itemized pricing. You have every right to ask.
“Do you accept insurance assignment?”

“What's included vs. what's extra?”
Packages may not include everything. Ask about the casket, embalming, transportation, facility fees, and death certificate copies.
“Do you offer payment plans?”
Many funeral homes allow you to spread the cost over time. Ask about down payments, terms, and financing options.
Know Your Rights
Under the FTC Funeral Rule, funeral homes must give price information by telephone and a written General Price List when you visit in person. Federal law does not require them to send the list by mail or email. You can select individual goods and services and use a casket purchased elsewhere.

“Heart breaking that so many of our ancestors have been disgraced. Disgraceful because the property is not kept up - broken tree limbs, piles of dirt and gavel. The roads are pathetic with holes broken ground. If you aren’t sure where your loved one is buried, it could be hopeless. Carver actually charges an additional $95 for a grave to be marked. This place has taken advantage of the fact that families would like to bury family members in the same area instead of burying family members in different cemeteries. If you plan to visit the grave of a love one please bring grass cutters, trash bags and be prepared to pull weeds up. It’s a mess!”

“My parents purchased plots for our family members many years ago. Over the years, I have laid to rest my Brother, Sister, Mother, and most recently, my Father. It is very unfortunate that the Management for the Cemetery is blaming the deplorable conditions on the unavailability of workers. This situation has been ongoing for many years. Yes, we are In a Pandemic, but there are too many lawn service companies in Shreveport for this to be used as an excuse. If the current Management is unable to maintain the upkeep of the Cemetery, then the property should be sold to someone who is more capable. Our loved ones deserve so much better. Excuses don't produce RESULTS!”
