Federal law (FTC Funeral Rule) requires them to give you itemized pricing. You have every right to ask.
“Do you accept insurance assignment?”

“What's included vs. what's extra?”
Packages may not include everything. Ask about the casket, embalming, transportation, facility fees, and death certificate copies.
Know Your Rights
Under the FTC Funeral Rule, funeral homes must give price information by telephone and a written General Price List when you visit in person. Federal law does not require them to send the list by mail or email. You can select individual goods and services and use a casket purchased elsewhere.

“My father passed away July 2023 and my family hired Love and Grace Funeral Home to handle the services, which in hindsight was a BIG MISTAKE. We paid cash for my father’s funeral which we also purchased a headstone from Casey Meyers. Casey was late the day of the viewing and did not pick up the family from the house, he was late getting there the day of the funeral stating he had been there earlier but the church wasn’t open. We also paid for escorts which never came and my family had to use our personal vehicles to stop traffic. We were told that the headstone would be placed in about 8 weeks after the funeral. To this day, April 8, 2025, the headstone still hasn’t been placed nor has it been ordered. Every time we call he is NOT AVAILABLE to take calls and he would get back to us. We were finally told at the beginning of the year that the headstone would be placed the last week of January and it still hasn’t been placed. Now his STORY IS THE CEMETERY DOES NOT ALLOW HIM TO PLACE THE HEADSTONE SINCE WE DID NOT PURCHASE THE HEADSTONE FROM THE CEMETERY. I spoke to the cemetery and they said that is not true and they have had many complaints about Love and Grace Funeral Home in regards to this matter. PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM LOVE AND GRACE FUNERAL HOME AND CASEY MEYERS!!!!!”
