“Can I see your General Price List?”
Federal law (FTC Funeral Rule) requires them to give you itemized pricing. You have every right to ask.
“Do you accept insurance assignment?”
Ask whether assignment is available for your policy and location, what fees apply, and what you must pay upfront. MedaSynq does not arrange assignments.
“What's included vs. what's extra?”
Packages may not include everything. Ask about the casket, embalming, transportation, facility fees, and death certificate copies.
Know Your Rights
Under the FTC Funeral Rule, funeral homes must give price information by telephone and a written General Price List when you visit in person. Federal law does not require them to send the list by mail or email. You can select individual goods and services and use a casket purchased elsewhere.

“This has been a very hard process and still is flr my family- We held our little sister’s funeral on November 16th- and it has taken this long for me to write my thoughts about this place. This place - Heritage Mortuary- is exactly what we needed.. We were comforted by Larnique- our wonderful director…Maria was such a heartfelt touch as she ushered around with tissue. The loss of our sister was abrupt- and is still devastating to go on day bu day, but what Heritage team (whom treated our loss as if it was their loss as well) did for us- was beyond our expectations. We were pretty scrambled and navigating through such a hard time that Larnique was and still is the most gracious help we can ever have imagined to have. No one can deal with tragedy, nor may we ever be fully whole in the loss of our loved ones, but as I write this review - I think of the verse in the Bible- Matthew 5:4 Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted. You have to be a special kind of individual to deal with the aftermath of loss- you have to have an angelic calling beyond this world to deal with such hurt and pain we suffer- And Heritage comforted my family…they were the extended hand of GOD to shelter us and hold us as we tried to understand why did all of this happen. I am still devastated by the loss of our sister Lupe- but Heritage Mortuary helped us tremendously- I am quite impressed about the team at Heritage and how attentive the whole staff was.
