“Can I see your General Price List?”
Federal law (FTC Funeral Rule) requires them to give you itemized pricing. You have every right to ask.
“Do you accept insurance assignment?”

“What's included vs. what's extra?”

Know Your Rights
Under the FTC Funeral Rule, funeral homes must give price information by telephone and a written General Price List when you visit in person. Federal law does not require them to send the list by mail or email. You can select individual goods and services and use a casket purchased elsewhere.

My family’s experience for my grandmother’s funeral with Jimmy Stewart was extremely disappointing. Jimmy Stewart, in particular, was dismissive and unprofessional throughout the process. He showed little compassion or understanding for the grief we were experiencing, and his approach made an already difficult time even harder. It was clear his focus was more on money than on truly supporting and guiding families with care and respect. The facility itself is poorly maintained. The furniture is dirty, the carpet is dirty, and the overall building is old and outdated, giving more of a museum-like feeling than a place of comfort. Sadly, the way my grandmother was presented felt more like an exhibit than the dignified remembrance of a loved family member. A funeral home should prioritize dignity, empathy, and respect. Unfortunately, this was not our experience here.”
