Know Your Rights
Under the FTC Funeral Rule, funeral homes must give price information by telephone and a written General Price List when you visit in person. Federal law does not require them to send the list by mail or email. You can select individual goods and services and use a casket purchased elsewhere.

We were hoping for kindness and support during the loss of my sister, but instead, my niece felt dismissed and overlooked during one of the most painful moments in her life. Even basic coordination, like letting us know when my sister was being taken to the church, was missing. Because of that, we missed the chance to honor her properly as a family with a funeral procession following her to the church. The director even missed the scheduled appointment with my niece to place her mother’s ashes in the urn — something that should have been handled with care and dignity.
