“I definitely would not recommend Calahan Funeral Home. They stained the back panel of my my mother's coffin and did not say anything. We discovered the stain and they refused to pay the expedited shipping to have another on delivery by the next morning stating the fee was too high. The services was the next morning and I was told they would replicate the design. I discovered when I arrived for the services they failed to replicate the design. I was devastated! The obituary looked terrible. We spent days working with the printer trying to get the obituary to look like it was professionally done. We missed the entire first hour to look at my mother because we were on the phone dealing with the printing company. We followed the deadlines to get them what they asked for but the quality of work was lacking. They were unorganized and I spent so much time focusing on trying to make sure everything was done I was unable to grieve the death of my mother. I am still trying to cope with what I went through dealing with the unprofessionalism and unorganization experienced at Calahan Funeral Home. I pray that with time I can move on from this horrible experience.”

“I take no pleasure in giving this 2 star rating but it is deserved. There were way too much fumbles by the staff that could have been avoided. They don't let you see your loved one until the day before the services. Our viewing was in late afternoon with the funeral the next day @ 9:30am. We noticed a problem that needed to be connected. The added stress of this last minute correction was unnecessary and extremely frustrating. We couldn't see the fix until the moring of the funeral. The fix was sub-par but nothing could be done at that point. This is but one example of the mis-steps made by the staff. Clear communications and reasonable timing is needed. This would minimize stresses associated with last minute changes if needed.”

“Failed to honor my family’s prior arrangements for a semi-private viewing. It was devastating that my loved one’s final wishes were completely disregarded. The owner laughed at the idea of a semi-private viewing and ultimately allowed unauthorized parties to change the agreement in the middle of the service. Immediately after the passing, the director entered the hospital room and began questioning the entire family about funeral arrangements, showing no consideration for those who were grieving and not in the proper state to make such decisions.”
