“Can I see your General Price List?”
Federal law (FTC Funeral Rule) requires them to give you itemized pricing. You have every right to ask.
“Do you accept insurance assignment?”
Ask whether assignment is available for your policy and location, what fees apply, and what you must pay upfront. MedaSynq does not arrange assignments.
“What's included vs. what's extra?”
Packages may not include everything. Ask about the casket, embalming, transportation, facility fees, and death certificate copies.
Know Your Rights
Under the FTC Funeral Rule, funeral homes must give price information by telephone and a written General Price List when you visit in person. Federal law does not require them to send the list by mail or email. You can select individual goods and services and use a casket purchased elsewhere.

“Attended a service there- and if it weren’t for this ONE employee (Vanessa) I would have given them 5 stars. As a guest who’s never been there before- I walked in and 2 ladies that worked there just looked at me and continued their conversation. I asked about the funeral I was attending and they told me where to go- but it was upsetting that they did not greet me and it seemed as if they were having a personal conversation. During the service Vanessa kept trying to get another employees attention by saying “pssssssssssss” DURING THE SERVICE!! It was the most disrespectful thing. It happened TWICE!! Between that, her taking off her shoes to crunch her feet AND her phone going off during the ceremony- I was shocked she is even employed there. As an employee- how dare you not respect this service by putting your phone on silent. It was so bad that as soon as the service was over- I had to tell someone at the front office what happened. I’m unsure if she said anything because she only seemed to be concerned that I wasn’t family or with the family when they went over the planning of the funeral. One of the guests said she had a service there and it was not like that at all- so you know they typically have better service, but this one was definitely one for the books.”

We honestly had no previous dealings with any of the local Lafayette funeral homes and chose them from remembering seeing their name before. Well, it must have been God that put their name in our head.
