“Can I see your General Price List?”
Federal law (FTC Funeral Rule) requires them to give you itemized pricing. You have every right to ask.
“Do you accept insurance assignment?”
Ask whether assignment is available for your policy and location, what fees apply, and what you must pay upfront. MedaSynq does not arrange assignments.
“What's included vs. what's extra?”
Packages may not include everything. Ask about the casket, embalming, transportation, facility fees, and death certificate copies.
Know Your Rights
Under the FTC Funeral Rule, funeral homes must give price information by telephone and a written General Price List when you visit in person. Federal law does not require them to send the list by mail or email. You can select individual goods and services and use a casket purchased elsewhere.

“We had a horrible experience here. We reached out to them on Saturday to handle this, but we encountered some unforeseen issues w/the next of kin; however, we informed them that the issue had since been resolved. We met with them on Tuesday to finalize the arrangements for this coming Monday, and everything seemed to be in order—the obituary, the certified check, and more. They were supposed to handle the service, but we encountered numerous false statements from their side. This morning, we had to scramble to find another funeral home because they never picked up his body, despite claiming they had done so on Monday. They also falsely stated that he was badly decomposed, which was not true. Instead of admitting that they don’t specialize in reconstruction, they have been saying that our relative’s body was badly decomp. We were promised a return call on both Tuesday and Wednesday, but it never happened. My sister and I drove there, where we were further subjected to less-than-truthful statements from this person. We lost valuable time dealing with them—it has been a complete nightmare. Currently, we are trying to confirm if we can have the service on Tuesday or Wednesday of next week. Incredibly frustrating.”
