Federal law (FTC Funeral Rule) requires them to give you itemized pricing. You have every right to ask.

Know Your Rights
Under the FTC Funeral Rule, funeral homes must give price information by telephone and a written General Price List when you visit in person. Federal law does not require them to send the list by mail or email. You can select individual goods and services and use a casket purchased elsewhere.

“Jose and Julio just came today to pick up my dad after he passed. Of course it is a Sunday, when many people would rather enjoy their break from work; yes, it's a 24 hour service, but people are people, and sometimes Sunday is their (mentally) off day. Yet they were gentle, compassionate, and understanding. My folks' entryway was also too narrow for the gourney, so they used a rescue board to carry my dad. They still maintained the same level of respect and dignity in the moment as they carried him out, and I really appreciated how well they handled everything.
