“Can I see your General Price List?”
Federal law (FTC Funeral Rule) requires them to give you itemized pricing. You have every right to ask.
“Do you accept insurance assignment?”
Ask whether assignment is available for your policy and location, what fees apply, and what you must pay upfront. MedaSynq does not arrange assignments.
“What's included vs. what's extra?”
Packages may not include everything. Ask about the casket, embalming, transportation, facility fees, and death certificate copies.
Know Your Rights
Under the FTC Funeral Rule, funeral homes must give price information by telephone and a written General Price List when you visit in person. Federal law does not require them to send the list by mail or email. You can select individual goods and services and use a casket purchased elsewhere.

We used them for dad in 2020 when COVID was happening and we had a very limited funeral for him due to all of the restrictions. It was still very nice and Colligan was so helpful.When mom passed on October 12th, of course Colligan is who I called (and knew I would be). This was a totally different experience-in the most positive, beautiful way. Jolene came to my house and met with the family. Everything for the visitation/funeral was planned because of her preparedness. Nothing was missed. She kept in touch with me even after that meeting-communication was easy and she always responded no matter what the time was for questions , etc. Moms visitation was at the Michael J. Colligan Lodge. It was the most beautiful setting and mom looked beautiful. Jolene did an exceptional job. Mom was in great hands. “Sadly, we lost a beautiful member of our family to breast cancer, Rachel Tenney. We would like to thank all the staff at Colligan Funeral Home for helping her children honor " her" wishes. Rachel attended Zion Lutheran Church during her childhood with cousins, aunts, uncles, grandparents and great grandparents. As she looked back on the many happy memories, during those years, she expressed wanting her services to be held at the church, she loved and grew up in. Due to Covid 19 there have been different guidelines put in place at the church. These align with the current laws, set forth by the Governor ie: checking temperatures, social distancing, number of people gathering in one location... etc To keep everyone safe as possible, Zion Lutheran Church implemented their own guidelines for funerals and church services not Colligan Funeral Home. During normal times, there would have been more ushers to help family and friends locate the sanctuary and funeral procession. Because of Covid 19, we had one family member volunteer to usher. On behalf of our family, we apologize for your inconvenience. In closing, we want to thank Colligan Funeral Home. Ann, you helped Rachel's children honor their mothers wishes.
